Reindeer Farm & Safari (20mins) - 2 hour excursion:10 minute drive to a genuine Sámi reindeer farm, feed the reindeer, learn suopunki (Sámi lassoo), hear about their way of life and take a scenic sleigh ride.
Horse Drawn Sleigh Northern Lights Safari* - 1.5 hour excursion:On the evening you stay at the glass igloo you will be whisked off into the Lappish night by horse drawn sleigh. (* This trip is not available on departures weeks begining 7th, 14th or 21th January 2018)
Snowmobile Safari (25km):An exhilarating 25km ride through breathtaking scenery. This excursion can be a family daytime trip* or an evening adults trip 'In Search of the Northern Lights'. Snowmobiles are fun and easy to drive on your own or share (kids share with adult or towed in sled behind guide).* The evening snowmobile safari is available to children aged 12 and over.
Husky Safari (7km) - 2 hour excursion:15 minute drive to husky farm to visit our enthusiastic huskies in their scenic wilderness home including talk about husky life with coffee in a Kota and a memorable scenic sleigh ride.
* The Snowmobile Safari is based on 2 adults sharing. If you wish a Single driver there is a supplement of £30pp. Drivers will be required to hold a full UK driving license.
Night in a Glass Igloo
A unique and memorable night in a thermal glass igloo is the perfect way to have the best opportunity of seeing the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed.
Igloos have luxury twin beds, a small en suite bathroom with toilet and basin, and are cosy and warm inside due to the special thermal glass. Kakslauttanen Igloo Village, with 20 glass igloos, is located 10km from Saariselka, well away from any light pollution. Transfers from your main Saariselka accommodation, evening sauna (5-10pm), 3-course dinner and breakfast are included.
